Diversity Tickets

When we announced that we are giving away two tickets to folks that couldn’t attend otherwise, we didn’t expect that many responses!

Sadly we cannot give away a ticket to everyone. But we decided to support three people with a free ticket and cover up to 150€ of their travel expenses!

Thanks for the great responses and see you in two weeks!

Tips on preparing a talk

So you decided that you want to visit the JS Unconf this year. As you might know an unconference lives from the visitors and the talks are prepared by the visitors and get choosen in the morning of each conference day by the crowd. This gives everyone the chance to give an awesome talk. This is where you all come in.

If you work in a special environment, or you started an open source project or you have worked with a special library, It would be great if you can share your experience with the audience. What also applyies is if you have a deep knowledge of something (git, angular.js, react or any other topic) it would be awesome if you can share your failures, experiences, learnings or conclusions.

Another cool thing is if you have a great interest in something and you might have accomplished to do some tutorials, and you are interested in more information from people which already worked a longer period of time with that technology, you may organize a discussion group.

But in any case, this a D.I.Y. conference. And everybody should share something to the community. If you are scared to speak alone you may find a friend or colleague who can can hold a talk with you.

If you are terrified to speak in public or you have no idea how to prepare a talk you should take a look at speaking.io

Overall the most important rule for an unconference is “DON’T PANIC!”. Nobody expects you to prepare fireworks and laser shows for your talk (But if you want to do it go ahead, but please give us a head up for the fireworks ;-)).

Here are some links which may be useful for creating a good talk Links

Rough Unconference Schedule

The JS Unconf will start each day at 9AM. Saturday evening will be an event at a secret location. All locations will be described in our location section.

After the breakfast which starts at 9AM we will vote together which talks we want to see during the day.

We will have four parallel tracks and each slot has 45 minutes. You can organize your talk as you wish, between presentation, demo, discussion, Q&A, etc.

Speakers can add the links to their slides to our wiki: https://github.com/jsunconf/2015.jsunconf.eu/wiki

Between each slot there are breaks for drinking coffee and sharing experiences.

The Unconference ends on Sunday around 5PM. The night before the conference we are organizing a pre party.

Contributions and interests

Your contributions, talks and discussions are essential for the Unconference. We created an application where you can collect your interests and proposals: Contribs & Interests

Please check out http://contriboot.jsunconf.eu/ and submit your talks and what talks you are interested in!

Everyone is invited to give a talk at JS Unconf: at the days of the conference we all vote together which talks we would love to see - the talks with the most votes will be put on the schedule then.

We are looking forward to many awesome sessions with you at the Unconference!
